Tender for demolition of Grand Bank cottage hospital forthcoming
Improvements are on the way for roads and highways on the Burin Peninsula.
The work was part of an announcement at Luxury Estates in Grand Bank Friday morning.
A tender for road work in the Grand Bank area will include upgrading and paving of approximately 2.6 kilometres of Route 210 from Grand Bank towards Molliers, asphalt leveling on approximately 1.5 kilometres of Route 220 between Lamaline and Point May and approximately 1.5 kilometres of asphalt leveling on Route 220 through Fortune.
A tender will also soon be released for the demolition of the old Grand Bank cottage hospital, as well as replacement of a panel bridge on Route 220-11 in Corbin.
In the coming weeks, a tender will also be issued for the replacement of a timber bridge with an aluminum bridge structure on Route 210-15 in the Burin-Placentia West community of Brookside.
Upgrades and paving to a section of Parker’s Cove Road on Route 210-18, totaling two kilometres, was also announced Friday, as well as improvements to a section of Route 210 to provide a turning lane to the new medical clinic near Boat Harbour.
