Ten­der for de­mo­li­tion of Grand Bank cot­tage hospi­tal forth­com­ing

Im­prove­ments are on the way for roads and high­ways on the Burin Penin­sula.

The work was part of an an­nounce­ment at Lux­ury Es­tates in Grand Bank Fri­day morn­ing.

A ten­der for road work in the Grand Bank area will in­clude up­grad­ing and pav­ing of ap­prox­i­mately 2.6 kilo­me­tres of Route 210 from Grand Bank to­wards Mol­liers, as­phalt lev­el­ing on ap­prox­i­mately 1.5 kilo­me­tres of Route 220 be­tween La­ma­line and Point May and ap­prox­i­mately 1.5 kilo­me­tres of as­phalt lev­el­ing on Route 220 through For­tune.

A ten­der will also soon be re­leased for the de­mo­li­tion of the old Grand Bank cot­tage hospi­tal, as well as re­place­ment of a panel bridge on Route 220-11 in Corbin.

In the com­ing weeks, a ten­der will also be is­sued for the re­place­ment of a tim­ber bridge with an alu­minum bridge struc­ture on Route 210-15 in the Burin-Pla­cen­tia West com­mu­nity of Brook­side.

Up­grades and pav­ing to a sec­tion of Parker’s Cove Road on Route 210-18, to­tal­ing two kilo­me­tres, was also an­nounced Fri­day, as well as im­prove­ments to a sec­tion of Route 210 to pro­vide a turn­ing lane to the new med­i­cal clinic near Boat Har­bour.
