Lighthouse Productions awarded NLAC grant
Lighthouse Productions Inc. in Grand Bank has been awarded $6,000 from the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council (NLAC) through its Professional Festivals Program.
The funding will support this summer’s 18th Grand Bank Regional Theatre Festival.
Fifteen grants, totaling $125,000, will be dispersed amongst professional festivals throughout the province under this year’s program, supporting costs related to artist fees, technical costs, venue rental, administration costs, workshop sessions and travel expenses.
“There are so many professional performances throughout the province for people to take in at the variety of festivals funded this year,” NLAC executive director Reg Winsor acknowledged.
“A number of these festivals also include valuable professional development opportunities through workshops and seminars, as well as ways for members of the public and visitors to engage with local, Canadian, and international artists.”
NLAC receives an annual contribution of $2.1 million from the provincial government for granting programs, program delivery, operations and communications.
