Youth Ventures starts up for another great summer!
What do Mark Zuckerburg, Beyonce Knowles, Henry Ford and Youth Ventures’ participants all have in common? They all started their own businesses!
Youth Ventures empowers students aged 12-29 to start their own business. Maybe you are interested in running a seasonal business for the summer? Perhaps you have bigger dreams and aspirations.
As your YV coordinator for summer 2014, I am here to offer you my support and guidance every step of the way – from coming up with a creative idea/name to developing marketing materials that will help you promote your business to the public.
Don’t have experience when it comes to the financials or market analysis sections of a business plan? Don’t worry! As a business graduate, I am skilled in all sections of a business plan and will work with you until you are confident with the end result.
While it is great to celebrate and recognize successful international businesses like those started by the people mentioned at the beginning of this article, we must not forget the amazing entrepreneurs we have in our own province and on the Burin Peninsula.
Last summer, 17-year-old Olivia Rideout of Fortune started her own photography business with Youth Ventures. Over the summer, Olivia Rideout Photography grew and her passion developed from a hobby into a successful business. Her clientele increased dramatically. She received over 650 likes on her Facebook page, and because of her hard work and dedication, she was the recipient of the Excellence in Technology and Innovation Award at the end of the summer.
