Strang runs per­sonal best in Har­bourfront 10K

Michelle Strang of Burin ran a per­sonal best time of 45:02 in the Har­bourfront 10K Road Race in St. John’s May 11.

It placed her fifth over­all in the fe­male cat­e­gory, as well as fifth in the 30-39 fe­male age class.

Strang, who low­ered her best time by nearly three min­utes, was one of three mem­bers of the Mariners Ath­let­ics Run­ning Club (MARC) who par­tic­i­pated in the event.

Su­san Brock­erville of Marys­town ran 50:48, plac­ing 15th over­all in the fe­male cat­e­gory and third in the 5059 fe­male age class. Gor­don Brock­erville, also of Marys­town, ran 43:44, good for 27th over­all in the male cat­e­gory and sec­ond in the 6069 male age class.

Marys­town’s Michael Scott, run­ning as an un­at­tached club run­ner, placed sixth over­all in the male cat­e­gory with a time of 37:08. The time put him third amongst run­ners in the 20-29 male age class.
