One of the organizers from the Grand Bank club, Ruby Dyall, explained how the event came about.

“Our club decided we would have an afternoon function for the ladies. So four of us got together and had a couple of meetings. We decided to have a ‘crazy hat party’ and invited the ladies from Fortune to join us,” she said.

The ladies enjoyed themselves as they engaged in a variety of senior-friendly games involving balloons, wooden spoons, ropes and balls.

Dyall added, “We just got together and had a lot of fun. I am sure we will do this again.”

For more photos from this event, visit Miriam Matthews and Dinah Smith were successful in breaking the balloon trapped between them while Mildred Matthews and Louise Hickman seemed to be having difficulties.
