June 2 Spring Expo
At Sacred Heart Academy gymnasium, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Featuring local crafts, cotton candy, candy apples, face painting, balloon creatures and more. Proceeds will be donated to the school. net proceeds from the event will be donated to the school. Admission Adults $3; children get in free.
Sunday Chase the Ace

MISCELLANY Seeking volunteers
The Burin Peninsula Health Care Hospital Auxiliary is looking for new members. Meetings are held the last Thursday of each month at 8 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Burin hospital. The Marystown branch of the Canadian Red Cross has new telephone numbers – Mon. to Fri. 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. 279-2463 and nights and weekends 279-1462. Individuals who have equipment on loan and not being used should return items to the depot in the Marystown Museum building.

Interested in volunteering to assist youth in your community? The Burin Peninsula West Alternative Measures program is seeking volunteer mediators. Alternative Measures is a voluntary alternative to the court system for youth. The Marystown Museum is expanding its archives on the history of Marystown and the Mortier Bay region. The Gran-For-Line Alternative Measures Program-Extrajudicial Sanctions is looking for volunteers in the Grand Bank-Fortune Area. Extrajudicial Sanctions is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that provides an alternative to court proceedings for young people who have accepted responsibility
