Councillor Mike Brennan didn’t mince his words when it came to litterbugs during the town council meeting in Marystown on Monday, June 4.

“I’m just aghast at the ignorance of people,” Brennan said, labelling some in the town as “pigs” with “no respect.”

Clean-up week was held recently in Marystown, and Saturday, June 2 was deemed a day for everyone to come together to do their part.

There was a strong response from many residents and businesses in the community to tidy up around town, Brennan acknowledged, making sure to thank those who were involved.

According to Brennan, less than 24-hours later, however, some places were messy again. He noted an area of the Peninsula Mall parking lot in particular that had been cleaned up and then looked like nothing had been done.
