Wo­man put car off road near Whit­bourne, threat­ened po­lice, RCMP say

The Whit­bourne RCMP said a wo­man put her car off the road af­ter driv­ing im­paired east of Whit­bourne last week and then threat­ened po­lice.

Tuesday, Aug. 28, around 11:40 p.m., Whit­bourne RCMP re­ceived a com­plaint of a sin­gle-ve­hi­cle crash on the Trans Canada High­way.

Po­lice at­tended the scene and found a ve­hi­cle in the me­dian. A 35-year-old wo­man was ar­rested for im­paired op­er­a­tion.

Breath sam­ples were ob­tained nearly twice the le­gal limit and while in cus­tody, the wo­man threat­ened to harm po­lice, the RCMP say.

She now faces charges of im­paired op­er­a­tion, im­paired op­er­a­tion with blood al­co­hol over 80 mgs and ut­ter­ing threats.

She will be in court Oct. 31.
