Wilson places second at MJT stop in Lloydminster

Swift Current’s Griffin Wilson now has a pair of top-two finishes to open the season on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour.

Wilson was the only Southwest golfer in action at an MJT Golf Sask OOM Series event at the Lloydminster Golf and Country Club over the first weekend in June.

Wilson finished the opening day with a two-shot lead over the field with a 76 on day one. He shot a 10over 82 on Sunday to finish in second in the 12-man Junior Boys Division, one shot behind Estevan’s Logan Chernoff (78-79-157).

Wilson had won the Saskatchewan MJT opener in Estevan two weeks earlier.

The next MJT Saskatchewan event will be on June 16-17 in North Battleford.
