Peewee 57’s win once at home tournament

The Swift Current Peewee AAA 57’s won once in three attempts at their eight-team home tournament over the weekend.

The Peewee 57’s lost their opener 11-6 to the Muenster Red Sox on Friday. They got into the win column on Saturday morning with an 8-1 victory over the Saskatoon A’s, but were eliminated from the tournament that afternoon with a 12-2 loss to the Saskatoon Blue Jays.

The Saskatoon Braves defeated the Saskatoon Blue Jays 12-2 in the championsh­ip game on Sunday.

The Peewee AAA 57’s will return to action this weekend when they host the Regina White Sox on Saturday and Weyburn on Sunday for double headers beginning at 1 p.m. at Ford Field.

The Bantam AAA 57’s will also host a home tournament this weekend with eight teams in action. They open the tournament on Friday at 4 p.m. against the Saskatoon Braves at Kiwanis Field.

Swift Current will also meet the Strathmore Reds on Saturday at noon and the Saskatoon A’s at 6 p.m. The championsh­ip final is set for 3 p.m. on Sunday.
