Sask-alta League heats up this week

The Sask-alta Baseball League season is well underway as all eight teams have played at least four games so far.

The Gull Lake Greyhounds have gotten out to a quick start with a 5-1 record to lead the league. The Cabri River Rats were second with a 4-1-1 record, followed by the Richmound Rockets at 4-2 and the Shaunavon Badgers at 3-3. The two-time defending league champion Swift Current Yard Goats sit fifth with a 2-1-1 record.

Tonight’s action includes the Greyhounds visiting the Medicine Hat Vipers, the Yard Goats visiting Richmound, the Maple Creek Mohawks heading to Climax, and the River Rats head ing south to battle the Badgers.

On Friday, the Climax Cardinals will visit the Vipers in Medicine Hat.

Saturday will feature Shaunavon heading to Richmound, Climax visiting the Rocket Dome in Richmound, and the Badgers heading to Medicine Hat. The Swift Current Yard Goats defeated the visiting Shaunavon Badgers 7-6 on June 7 in the Sask-alta Baseball League.
