Chinook School Division Sports Report
With our Chinook students returning to school on Tuesday, Sept. 4, all the SWAC athletic directors/coaches have been busy getting their school’s athletic programs up and running.
The first Southwest Athletic Conference meeting was held on Thursday, Sept. 30 and one piece of business was to update the SWAC calendar/host sites for 2018-2019.
The fall activities on the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association calendar are golf, cross country, soccer, football and volleyball.
The first SWAC championship will take place on Saturday, Sept. 8 when the SWAC district golf tournament takes place in Burstall. Tee off time is 10:30 a.m. with golfers playing 18 holes. Boys and girls will be competing in both team and individual categories. The top three females and top three males, as well as the top female team and top male team, will advance to the SHSAA provincial championships which are in North Battleford on September 21-22. Students in grade 9-12 are eligible to participate in golf. Good luck to all our golfers!
