The Red Cross has bestowed its highest honour on Swift Current’s Tami Wall. The Order of Red Cross is the highest level of recognition awarded by the Canadian Red Cross for outstanding humanitarian service, dedication and achievement through volunteerism or leadership with the organization. Fewer than 300 Canadians have received this prestigious award.

“I was surprised and humbled to be honoured in this way,” Wall stated after receiving the award in Regina last Thursday. “I have always been lucky to be part of an amazing Saskatchewan Red Cross team. Volunteering for the Red Cross is a special opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who are most vulnerable in our society.”

She was presented the honour in recognition of her humanitarianism and professional expertise which has provided leadership and significant fundraising to the organization in Saskatchewan.

“We’ve been extremely fortunate to have Tami Wall providing expert advice on local activities ranging from fundraising to expanding our bullying prevention programming across the province,” explained Cindy Fuchs, Vice-president, Saskatchewan, Canadian Red Cross.
