Mcleods and Par­son­age top Grass Roots Tour

Three South­west cow­boys com­bined to win two events at the CPRA Grass Roots Pro Rodeo Canada Fi­nal in Cal­gary on Septem­ber 27-28.

Maple Creek’s Jared Par­son­age won Bull Rid­ing hand­ily in av­er­age with a score of 161.5 to pocket $2,500. He was sec­ond in go-round one with 85.5 points for $937. Par­son­age was the only cow­boy to last eight sec­onds in go-round two with a 76-point ride for $3,125.

Par­son­age cur­rently leads the Grass Roots Bull Rid­ing sea­son stand­ings with $16,537.

Waldeck’s Tyce and Tuftin Mcleod also won Team Rop­ing at the Fi­nals with a pair of im­pres­sive per­for­mances. They won go-round one in 4.7 sec­onds for $2,500 and then placed sec­ond in go-round two in 5.0 sec­onds for $1,875. Their com­bined to­tal of 9.7 sec­onds re­sulted in a $5,000 pay­day.

Tyce Mcleod leads the Heeler stand­ings with $12,670, while Tuftin leads all Head­ers with $14,756. Tuftin is third in the CPRA rookie stand­ings and Tyce is fifth.

The Mcleods and Par­son­age will be par­tic­i­pat­ing in the Cana­dian Fi­nals Rodeo in Red Deer on Oc­to­ber 30 – No­vem­ber 4.
