Peewee Broncos split with Warriors

The Swift Current Southwest Terminal Broncos split a home-and-away set against the Moose Jaw Warriors last week in the Saskatchew­an Peewee AA Hockey League.

Wednesday, the Broncos were unable to dig themselves out of an early hole in a loss to the visiting Warriors. The Broncos allowed the opening three goals in a 4-3 loss.

Kade Stringer scored twice, while Hudson Darby also scored in the loss. Peyton Keller, Parker Rondeau, and Ryder Woods all picked up assists.

Saturday, the Broncos won the rematch 5-4 on in Moose Jaw as the teams traded the lead throughout the game. Cutter Knight scored the only goal of the third period, his second of the game, to give the Broncos the lead for good.

Stringer finished with a goal and an assist and Rondeau and Darby each assisted on a pair of goals. Easton Lee and Wesley Olson also scored, while Makstr Mcintyre added an assist. Calder Jones earned the win in goal.

The Broncos finished the weekend with a 6-4-0 record, while Moose Jaw moved to 3-6-2.
