Ban­tam Bron­cos win sil­ver at home

The Swift Cur­rent Pure Chem Bron­cos tested them­selves against a di­verse field dur­ing their 12-team Ban­tam AA tour­na­ment over the week­end as they won their first three games to place sec­ond.

The Bron­cos opened the round robin on Fri­day af­ter­noon with a 7-1 win over Ed­mon­ton’s South Side Ath­letic Club.

Kalan Lind paced the of­fense with a goal and three as­sists, fol­lowed by three as­sists from Ay­den La­marre. Dayne Fe­icht scored twice, while Kane Klassen added a goal and an as­sist. Nolan Steven­son, Ry­lan Silzer, and Ry­lan Wil­liams also scored, while Colton Leahy added an as­sist.

The Bron­cos fol­lowed up a few hours later with a 9-3 win over Strath­cona to win their pool.

Lind led the way with two goals and five as­sists, fol­lowed by three goals and one as­sist from Fe­icht and a goal and three as­sists from Rhett Dekowny.

Ri­ley Bow­ers scored twice, while Mckale Paul added a sin­gle.

Silzer picked up a pair of as­sists. Steven­son, Leahy, La­marre, Paul, Carter Lamotte, and Klassen all added as­sists.

The Ban­tam Bron­cos added a 7-1 win over Fort St. John’s NEBC Track­ers in the A semi­fi­nal on Satur­day evening.

Lind led the way with a goal and three as­sists. Fe­icht added two goals and one as­sist, while Silzer and Dekowny each fin­ished with a goal and two as­sists and Lamotte chipped in a goal and an as­sist.

Bow­ers also scored, while Paul, Carter Giro­dat, Leahy, Klassen, and Daniel Gan­ert all added as­sists.

The Bron­cos took on the Regina Aces in the cham­pi­onship game and lost 5-2. Dekowny and Ro­han Priebe scored with an as­sist from Lind.

Lind was named the tour­na­ment’s Top For­ward af­ter fin­ish­ing with four goals and 12 as­sists.

The Ban­tam Bron­cos cur­rently have a 6-2 record in the Saskatchewan Ban­tam AA Hockey League. They re­turn to league ac­tion on Dec. 8 in Martensville.
