Colts re­bound from first loss

The Swift Cur­rent Colts suf­fered their first Saskatchewan Fe­male Ban­tam A Hockey League loss on Fri­day, but re­bounded with a con­vinc­ing win on Sun­day.

Fri­day, the Colts lost 4-2 to the vis­it­ing Melville Fire. Ava Geissler scored both goals in a los­ing cause with as­sists from Sadie Keller and Jenna Lacher.

Sun­day, the Colts re­sponded in con­vinc­ing fash­ion with an 8-2 vic­tory over the vis­it­ing Wood River Ice Cats. Keller reg­is­tered a goal and two as­sists, while Olivia Kir­wan added three as­sists.

Bro­gan Carl­son and Pais­ley Arntsen each scored twice. Mya Brown and Geissler each tal­lied a goal and an as­sist. Marie Tsougri­a­nis also scored, while Mya Gi­rard added an as­sist.

The Colts fin­ished the week­end in sec­ond spot in the 12-team South Divi­sion with an 8-1-1 record.

The Colts will host four games in De­cem­ber, be­gin­ning on Satur­day when they face the Bal­car­res Bar­racu­das at 8 p.m. at Fairview East Arena. They also host the Moose Jaw Mav­er­icks on Sun­day at 1:30 p.m. at the In­no­va­tion Credit Union iplex.
