Sasktel Telcare donations again have an impact in Swift Current
A total of just over $7,300 has been distributed by local Sasktel employees through their annual Sasktel Telcare donations.
Late last month 10 cheques were distributed in support of a group of agencies and programs which made a difference in the community. Eight organizations received an $816 donation, while two different programs split the remaining $816 contribution.
A total of $544 of the donation was raised through year long paycheque deductions from district employees, while the remaining $272 of the donation came through a Sasktel matching donation of 50 per cent of each donated dollar.
Locally, funds were directed to the Saskatchewan Abilities Council - Swift Current Branch, the Salvation Army, Southwest Crisis Services, the Swift Current SPCA, the
Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, the Canadian Mental Health Association - Swift Current Branch, the Arthritis Society of Saskatchewan, plus the Diabetes Society of Saskatchewan. In addition, both the All Saints Catholic School Breakfast Club and the Central School Breakfast Club collected donations of $408.
Across the province in 2017, the Telcare program contributed to $197,000 to 75 different non-profit organizations.
