Ban­tam Bron­cos bat­tle north­ern op­po­nents

The Swift Cur­rent Pure Chem Bron­cos played a pair of one-goal games against vis­it­ing North Di­vi­sions op­po­nents in the Saskatchewan Ban­tam AA Hockey League over the week­end.

Satur­day, the Bron­cos’ come­back bid came up just short in a 4-3 loss to the Prince Al­bert Pi­rates. Kalan Lind fin­ished with a goal and two as­sists, Rhett Dekowny scored twice, and Ry­lan Silzer notched a pair of as­sists. Dayne Fe­icht and Daniel Gan­ert added sin­gle as­sists. Colby Wat­son took the loss with 23 saves.

Sun­day, Fe­icht scored the fi­nal two goals to help the Bron­cos de­feat the Bat­tle­fords Barons 4-3. Fe­icht tied the game with 59 sec­onds left in the se­cond pe­riod and then scored a power play goal with 1:28 re­main­ing in reg­u­la­tion.

Lind as­sisted on all three goals. Ri­ley Bow­ers also scored, while Kane Klassen, Dekowny, and Silzer added as­sists. Colby Wat­son earned the win with 23 saves.

The Bron­cos fin­ished the week­end at 7-5-0, in sixth spot in the South Divi­sion.

The Ban­tam Bron­cos are on the road this week­end to visit the Melville Mil­lion­aires and the Prairie Storm.
