RCMP seek­ing in­for­ma­tion about body dis­cov­ered on Tran­scanada High­way near the Al­berta/saskatchewan bor­der

Maple Creek RCMP are ask­ing for the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance into their in­ves­ti­ga­tion of a de­ceased male dis­cov­ered on the Tran­scanada High­way just in­side the Al­berta/saskatchewan bor­der early Sun­day morn­ing.

RCMP re­port that at ap­prox­i­mately 7:30 a.m. on Satur­day, Jan­uary 5, a man was found de­ceased on the south­ern edge of the east­bound lanes of the Tran­scanada High­way ap­prox­i­mately seven kilo­me­tres east of the Al­berta bor­der.

The iden­tity of the man has not been de­ter­mined, and it ap­pears he died af­ter be­ing struck by a pass­ing ve­hi­cle. The man is de­scribed as cau­casian, in his 60s, ap­prox­i­mately 5’7’’ and weigh­ing 140 pounds. He has grey hair, a large mous­tache and a beard. He was wear­ing nu­mer­ous lay­ers of warm clothes and was car­ry­ing back­pack and sleep­ing bag.

RCMP are ask­ing for in­for­ma­tion from mo­torists who have ob­served ve­hi­cles with no­tice­able dam­age trav­el­ling east­bound on the Tran­scanada High­way late Fri­day, Jan­uary 4 or early morn­ing Jan­uary 5 near the lo­ca­tion of the col­li­sion.
