Bon Jovi reveals feud with Hall of Fame

Singer says a ‘falling out’ prevents induction

-

A fight between Jon Bon Jovi and a leading Rock & Roll Hall of Fame official has kept rock group Bon Jovi out of the fabled music museum, according to the singer.

The Livin’ on a Prayer singer reveals a big “falling out” with one of the bosses at the Cleveland rock mecca has cost his group an induction nomination for years.

In a new interview with radio presenter Howard Stern, Jovi claimed one member of the Hall’s voting board has “made it their personal mission” to keep Bon Jovi from being inducted.

“I called him a few choice words,” the singer explained during an interview with Stern on Tuesday. “I’m never shy, when I see him, to call him a few more choice words. And there’s other guys on that thing that have made it their personal mission to f—- with me. And that’s OK. I get it. I’ve sold more records than their artists.”

Jovi refused to name names, but it’s clear he’s sore his band has never been invited to the induction ceremony: “The criteria is actually that your music had an influence on generations that came after you, and that it’s still out and very present,” he added. “We have every criteria.”

Bon Jovi has been eligible for induction since 2009, but the band was nominated only once, in 2011.

The rock group isn’t even up for consideration for the Class of 2017, which is headed by Pearl Jam, Jane’s Addiction, Depeche Mode, Electric Light Orchestra, Kraftwerk, J. Geils Band, The Cars, The Zombies, Yes and Chic.

The shortlist will be announced in December ahead of a ceremony at the Barclays Center in New York City in April. WENN
