Accenture is in the process of hiring more than 80 people for its Niagara office.

The global professional-services company provides a broad range of solutions in strategy consulting, digital technology and operations, said Rachel Stuchberry, servicedelivery operations lead for Accenture Canada.

“Basically we help our clients do their jobs much better for them,” she said.

Accenture, which has an office on Schmon Parkway in Thorold, is focused on hiring people with indemand skills who will help clients achieve business outcomes through business-process services driven by innovation.

Stuchberry said Accenture employs about 4,000 people in Canada — more than 400 in Niagara.

Accenture has been in the region since 2001. She said Accenture continues to grow and evolve in Niagara.

“I’ve been in that building for 20 years myself. I started off at the front line as an agent, and now I’m responsible for our servicedelivery operations in Canada, so there’s lots of room for growth and opportunity.”

Stuchberry said Accenture has been hiring on a “steady basis” since last year due to the “exponential” growth“the company has been experiencing.

“The types of skills that we’re looking for are really around customer care, being quick and flexible, adaptable to learning, really being self driven, excellent communication skills. Really a strong emphasis on customers, and really delivering for our clients.”

Accenture is hosting a career networking event at its Niagara office today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Attendees can apply for positions at the event.

The event will give local talent in Niagara an opportunity to meet with business leaders, and learn about the work Accenture does for some of the world’s biggest brands.

“The purpose of the networking event is really to introduce potential candidates to what Accenture is all about, so spending some time meeting some of the operations leads in the location, learning about the business, how you can grow and expand in your career with Accenture, and then we will give people the opportunity to tour the facility,” said Stuchberry.

She said Accenture is a “great place to work,” with offices all across Canada.

“We’re really focused on innovation and helping out in our community. We’re very active in the community with a number of different charitable events.”

She said the average tenure for employees at Accenture is nine years.

“When people come here, they come to stay because they recognize what a great place it is to work, and how you can grow your career with Accenture.”
