Hun­ters in Nor­folk find body of St. Catharines man in woods

A pair of hun­ters walk­ing through a wooded lot in Nor­folk have found the body of a 65-yearold St. Catharines man who was re­ported miss­ing in early Novem­ber.

Hugh Jones had last been seen on Tues­day, Nov. 6. In its miss­ing per­son re­port a few days later, po­lice pro­vided a photo and de­scrip­tion, as well as in­for­ma­tion about the man’s ve­hi­cle and li­cence plate. Po­lice also in­di­cated the man was known to fre­quent Tim Hor­tons.

Ac­cord­ing to On­tario Pro­vin­cial Po­lice, of­fi­cers were called to an ad­dress on Front Road in Char­lot­teville, a vil­lage in Nor­folk County.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion de­ter­mined two hun­ters were walk­ing through a wooded lot off Front Road when they lo­cated a de­ceased man. The man was iden­ti­fied as Jones. A post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion was held Wed­nes­day, and as a re­sult po­lice are not treat­ing the death as sus­pi­cious and sus­pect no foul play.
