New strength coach

A reg­is­tered ki­ne­si­ol­o­gist who cur­rently trains ath­letes at The Club at White Oaks in Ni­a­garaon-the-Lake is join­ing the Ni­a­gara IceDogs as the On­tario Hockey League team’s strength coach. Nick Tam­burri is a li­censed per­sonal trainer who earned a bach­e­lors de­gree in ki­ne­si­ol­ogy from Brock Univer­sity. He spe­cial­izes in train­ing pro­fes­sional and am­a­teur ath­letes, as well as in re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion and group train­ing. “He comes into this role with a great back­ground in suc­cess­fully work­ing with lo­cal ath­letes, as well as OHL play­ers,” IceDogs gen­eral man­ager Joey Burke said. Tam­burri’s fo­cuses are im­prov­ing per­for­mance and in­jury pre­ven­tion.
