Snow globe wonderland comes to Falls for Icewine Festival

- THE NIAGARA FALLS REVIEW

Niagara Wine Festival and Niagara Parks are teaming up to offer a one-of-akind domed dining experience as part of Niagara Icewine Festival offerings.

The Snow Globe Soiree, which runs Jan. 16 through Feb. 16, invites diners to step inside a clear dining dome to enjoy a three-course meal prepared by one of Niagara’s top chefs, paired with a selection of Niagara VQA wines.

The Snow Globe Soiree Domed Dining Village will comprise 10 clear, heated dining domes set along the Niagara Parks’ promenade overlooking the illuminated American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls.

The snow globes will offer diners a view of Niagara Falls, complete with twinkling lights, faux fur blankets and a snow globe concierge.

The village will also feature a snow globe wine lounge, where diners can enjoy pre- and post-dinner wine while mingling with other guests.

Two Snow Globe Soiree dinner seatings, starting at $175 a person, will be offered nightly Thursday through Sunday evenings.

Dining domes are purchased as a group of six, which includes a three-course meal along with two bottles of premium

VQA wine.

Niagara’s most celebrated chefs will showcase their skills with a different chef presenting a signature threecourse menu each week.

“Enjoy some of Niagara Parks’ most spectacular views of the ‘frozen’ falls, a delicious three-course meal and the best of Niagara VQA wine — all from the comfort of your own heated dining dome,” said Niagara Parks chair Sandie Bellows.

“The Snow Globe Soiree in Niagara Parks is the perfect addition to this year’s Niagara Icewine Festival.”

Dorian Anderson, executive director of the Niagara Wine Festival, said the January festival is “such a fun way” to experience winter in Niagara, “but it never feels quite long enough.”

“As we looked for ways to extend the fun of winter in Niagara wine country, domed dining was a natural choice.”

The Snow Globe Soiree is reservation only with limited seating.

Guests can add their names to an early access list now, to enjoy booking privileges 48 hours in advance of the general public. Tickets officially go on sale beginning Dec. 4.
