HEARD, Elva Averill

-

In loving memory of Elva Averill Heard (nee Packard) April 8, 1923 - February 1, 2020 who passed away peacefully in Haliburton, Ontario to be with her Lord. Grandma was the dedicated wife of Lloyd George Heard (1988), loving daughter of Charles Packard (1959) and Zella (nee Sawyer) (1985). Much loved older sister of Florence (Jerrald Farley) (Warren Wray) (2011) and Lawrance (Evelyn) Packard (2004) and sister-in-law to Gordon Heard (1972). Devoted mother to Charles (Eileen (2016)) and Dwight (Wendy). Dearly loved grandmother of Tracey Naldjieff (Richard), Edward Heard (Brenda), Robin Miszuk (Roman), Susan Colson (Graham). Special great-grandma to Daniel, Catherine, Mark, Christopher, Jacob, Alexis. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Victor, Steve, Sharon, Geraldine, Maxine, Darlene, Grant and their families. Grandma was a committed member of the Falls View Brethren in Christ church from 1962 until her move from Niagara Falls to Haliburton in 1978. She was a lifelong member of the Eagle Lake Community church. She was employed at Carborundum for over 25 years before retiring in 1978. She and Grandpa Lloyd were fixtures of both the Niagara Falls and Haliburton communities residing on McLeod Road for over 35 years, then Eagle Lake and Haliburton for over 40 more. Grandma was a selfless, incredibly hardworking individual who put her faith, love of family, dedication to friends and community above all else.

There was no one like Grandma and she will always be loved and missed by those who knew her. We remember you on what would have been your 97th birthday. Love you and miss you Grandma.

Your memory is as dear today, as in the hour you passed away.
