- Nathan Kelly, BSCN MSC CMHPN Registered Nurse

I do hope that all readers are taking care and adhering to the important guidelines set out by our local, provincial, national and global health leadership and governments during this pandemic. Collectively, we can overcome this by staying home, sticking with physical distancing, washing our hands and of course, participating in getting the COVID vaccination.

My name is Nathan Kelly, a Registered Nurse, and the Region 3 representative (Niagara, Hamilton, Brant-haldimand-norfolk) on the board of directors for the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) the professional association for Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Nursing students in Ontario.

My full-time practice is located in Niagara as an outreach nurse with specialty in Mental Health and psychiatry and have been doing so for 9 years now. During this time I have had the privilege of meeting individuals and their families is the spaces and places they call home, and is truly a humbling and enriching career, as all the moments and experiences I have had, and continue to have, has shaped my lifer in ways never imagined.

Amongst many professional involvements, I am a disaster responder with involvement as an RN with Canadian Medical Assistance Teams (CMAT), a global large scale disaster response NGO and Ontario’s own Emergency Medical Assistance Team (EMAT) which responds to provincial disasters and crisis including COVID relief work this past summer in Windsor-essex. Having disaster clinicians at the ready locally, nationally and internationally underlines the important work all front-line people professions that work tirelessly 24/7 to ensure our collective safety and well-being across the lifespan.

Please take great care as we all work together to defeat

COVID19.
