We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Elizabeth Hodgson (nee Sturdy) peacefully at home on April 28. 2022. surrounded by her family and best friend Sandy Commerford. Predece-ased by the love of her life. husband Wayne Hodgson and her parents Phil and Betty Sturdy, her brother Dan Torok and sister Nancy Paone. Beloved mother of Christophe­r Hodgson (Nicole). Tania Badr (Ron), Charlotte Hodgson (Greg Tremble), Jennifer Hodgson (Damien Smith) and Joseph Grifa (Laura Hale). Proud and devoted Nana to Grace, Holla, Genevieve, Briar, Baily. Matthew. Griffin. and Ave. Best Aunt to Dina Paone (Richie). Patrick Paone (Brianne and children). Julia Hodgson. Danny Torok (Jessica and children), Kelsey Torok, Nathan Torok and Michael Torok. Elizabeth will be missed by her sister-In-law, Pat Torok and her dear friend Sandy Commerford as well as the many friends and neighbours who loved her. Elizabeth was born In Goderich, Ontario, and raised in Thorold, Ontario. Elizabeth moved to Niagara Falls. Ontario, after meeting the love of her life. Wayne Hodgson. Elizabeth was a long-time employee of the Bank of Montreal. She took a well-deserved early retirement In 2002. She was an active member of the Niagara Rugby Club and traveled all over the world. Elizabeth loved to cook and bake, and you could always find a homemade treat to be at the ready to be delivered or enjoyed in her home whenever you visited. She loved her time in Fort Myers, Florida, seeing her dear friends, long walks. and would stop to talk to just about anyone she met along the way. Elizabeth's children and grandchild­ren were the light of her life. Above all she always felt the greatest moments were spent with her family and friends. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciati­on Dr. Tatzel, Dr. Jeurgens and our in-house doctor, Dr. Nicole Hodgson. Many thanks to nurses Megan and Rapheal from Saint Elizabeth Nursing for all your care. Also, to the paramedics, nurses, and doctors at GNGH Emergency Department for their compassion­ate care and support. Special thanks to Nurse Maria who our mother adored. Friends are Invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls. visiting Friday, May 6, 2022, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service in celebratio­n of her life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 7 at 4 pm.
