MAGNUS, Kenneth
Passed away on May 23, 2023 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie. Ken was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 13, 1941 to parents Elmer and Elizabeth Magnus. He leaves to grieve, his loving wife and best friend, Nancy (nee Cox) Magnus and his children, Tim (Liane) Magnus, Andrew (Corrina) Magnus and Melinda (Steve) Beliveau. Ken will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Serena (Kelly) Bohn, Amanda (Michael) Benker, Kelsey (Riley) Deveny, Michael Magnus, Courtnay (Travis) Vandbeek, Walker Rough, and four greatgrandsons. Ken was truly blessed to be loved by not only his children, but also by his step-children Cindy (Mike) Clarke, Jim (Lori) Ryan, Debbie Smyth (Randy), Rick (Judy) Ryan, Susan D'atri and family as well as his 10 stepgrandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren. Ken is survived by his siblings Dale (Sharon) Leslie and Gale (Tim)
Weygandt, brother-in-law Jack Cox, as well as many nieces nephews and extended family and friends. Ken cherished his family, but there was always a special place in his heart for his angel, granddaughter Chantel Ryan and his fur babies Coco and Bella. Predeceased by his twin brother Keith, his brother Wayne and his sister-in-law Vicki Cox.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the caregivers from Bayshore Healthcare and Casey, the palliative care coordinator. Dr. Scher and the palliative care team at Douglas Memorial Hospital for their kind, compassionate care. A big thank you to palliative care nurse Elizabeth for her excellent care of Ken and for always making him smile. Benner Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Fort Erie, on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Light refreshments to follow in the church hall. As per Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place and he will return home to Kamloops, British Columbia where friends and family will celebrate his life and be laid to rest. If desired, donations in Ken's Memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
