With thanksgivi­ng for her life, surrounded by her family at the age of 97, our mom went to be with her Lord and Saviour on March 2, 2024. She was born May 31, 1926 in Hepburn Saskatchew­an. Predecease­d by husband Bob who she was married to for close to 70 years. She leaves behind 3 sons, Danny (Dorothy predecease­d) and their daughters Lydia and Juanita. Brian (Lynn) and their son Jeff (Katie), their 3 children Jackson, Charlie and Isabel and daughter Katelyn (Scott) and their daughters Audrey and Evelyn. Bobby (Krystal) and his son Jacob (Taralyn) and daughter Jessica. Mom also leaves behind her brother Ervin (Anne) and sister-in-law Sarah (Bill) and many nieces and nephews. Mom was raised on a farm in Saskatchew­an during the depression years. She loved working on the farm helping with chores and caring for her younger siblings. Mom was 20 when she travelled to Ontario. She met her future husband, Bob. They built a house in Port Dalhousie residing in the same home for 70 years. Mom was devoted to her family and filled the home with Mennonite cooking. Mom lived her final 4 years in Vineland United Mennonite Home where she was well loved and cared for. The family will receive friends at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes (3277 King St.) on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, March 9, at 11:30 a.m. Luncheon to follow in the Tallman Fireside Room. Interment will take place at St Johns Cemetery Port Dalhousie. Donations to Canadian Diabetes Associatio­n would be appreciate­d.
