EGGLETON, Stanley James

October 9, 1945 - April 12, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley "Stan" James Eggleton on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the age of 78. Husband to Fran (nee Mashford), father of Lara, James and Jacquie. Grandfather to Kiera, Jonah and Weston - who lovingly referred to Stan as his "Pa". Stan was survived by his brother Walt (Emily), sister-inlaw Sharon, and sisters Gilda (John) and Charlotte as well as sisters-in-law Liz, and Cheryl (Geoff) and brother-in-law Harry (Florence). He is predeceased by his parents Norman and Laura (nee Babbings), brother Bob "Moose", brothers-in-law Ted White, and Don Chisholm and sister-in-law Geri Chisholm. Stan has left behind many nieces and nephews, friends, and colleagues. Stan was a hard-working and dedicated employee of Regional Niagara for more than 25 years, where he served as a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, baseball specifically the Blue Jays, Bbqing and fixing anything that had an engine. Stan would relish in the opportunity to help anyone in any way that he could, and will be fondly remembered as a gentle, kind, and helpful man. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Meadows of Dorchester for the dignified care that Stan received during his time there. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. at the Niagara Falls Fire Station 6 - 8037 Schisler Rd, Welland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of the Niagara Region or the Lupus Foundation of Canada.
