Snow to end this afternoon
Environment Canada said in a special weather statement issued Friday that snow was expected to persist into Saturday. Total snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 centimetres are possible by Saturday morning. The snow began falling on Friday afternoon, as Environment Canada predicted. Light snow will continue through Saturday morning and come to an end Saturday afternoon. The snow is the result of a lowpressure system that tracked into the area, the agency said. People should continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm. Meanwhile, the high temperature for Saturday will be -4 degrees C, with winds gusting up to 40 km and hour at times. Sunday will be partly sunny with a high of -5.
