Rideout, Patterson headline football awards
Lively Hawks quarterback Nicholas Rideout has been named most outstanding player for the SDSSAA senior bots football league, officials announced this week. Major awards and all-star selections were finalized at a recent coaches’ meeting of the league at which all coaches participated. Most valuable player honours went to Bradley Patterson from Confederation Secondary School. Adam Rocha from St. Benedict was named Bartolucci Offensive Player of the Year, while Ben Campbell from Lo-Ellen Park captured the Ricker Defensive Player of the Year award. Derks Lineman of the Year awards went to Giovanni Bagnarol of Lively and William Maki of Lo-Ellen. Major award winners receive a special resin award, while all-stars receive a certificate to be presented within each member school. First-team all-stars include Alex McNabb and Brad Patterson from Confederation, Giovanni Bagnarol, Eamon Dolphin, Alex Gallant, Connor MacLean, Victor Paajanen, Nicholas Rideout and Nicholas Witzke from Lively, Ben Campbell, Jared Huzij,, William Maki and Kacey Thomson from Lo-Ellen Park, Brady Chisnell, Christopher Gosk, Gabriel Naokwegijig, Elliott Robinson and Christopher Scherzinger from St. Benedict and James Bronicheski, Liam Cousineau, Evan Lamarche, Aiden Ragogna, Erik Struk and Liam Williamson from St. Charles. Second-team all-stars include Alain Dufresne from College Notre Dame, Braeden Boissoneau, Braedyn Charette, Aiden Chmielak, Brad Patterson and Dylan Whitmell from Confederation, Giovanni Bagnarol, Dillon Jewitt, Cole Kennedy and Nicholas Rideout from Lively, Jacob Bartolucci, Owen Coles, Evan Gedye, Ryan MacKinnon, Louis Mullin-Belanger, Carter Pella from Lo-Ellen, Ben Cacciotti, Christopher Gosk, Giovanni Mastroianni, Ben McDonald, Adam Rocha and Roberto Zulich from St. Bens and Justin Dang, Mbuyi N’Galamulume, Keenan Osawabine and Logan Wrigley from St. Charles.
