The Sudbury Studio Singers will present The Gift of Love on Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Place, 111 Larch St. The 20-voice chamber choir was formed last year and has performed in a variety of settings, including a recent performance of Haydn’s The Seasons with the Laurentian University choir. This concert will feature the highly regarded Brahms Liebeslieder (Love-Song) waltzes. Joining the choir to accompany the Brahms will be Duo Turgeon, one of Canada’s finest piano duos. The Turgeons have earned an enviable international reputation, having won international competitions in both the USA and the Czech Republic. They will also perform Brahms’ famous Variations on a Theme by Haydn for two pianos. Rounding out the program, and adding a Christmas flavour, will be a newly arranged choral version of Brahms’ Holy Cradle Song, with piano duet accompaniment. Advance tickets are available at Grove’s YIG at the Four Corners and Jett Landry Music on Lasalle Boulevard. General admission is $20, and students and seniors cost $15.
