With deep sad­ness we an­nounce that Ann passed away on Sun­day De­cem­ber 2, 2018 at Grand River Hospi­tal from com­pli­ca­tions of the breast can­cer she had been strug­gling with for some time. She was 65 years of age. Mar­ried since 1976 to Olaf Naese, Ann was his beloved best friend. Fondly re­mem­bered by brother Ian McIn­tosh, sis­ter-in-law San­dra Carty, brother-in-law Chris (Yvonne) Naese, nieces Karen McIn­tosh (Tyler Fin­layson), Laura Feeney (James), Chloe Naese, as well as cousins, grand nieces and neph­ews and also spe­cial friends Gerry and Cathy Re­hberg. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents Al­lan and Cather­ine (McKay) McIn­tosh and par­ents-in-law Gunter and Ilse Naese.

A na­tive of Owen Sound, Ann grad­u­ated from the Univer­sity of Guelph with a de­gree in Ge­og­ra­phy. She spent her ca­reer with the Univer­sity of Water­loo Li­brary, hold­ing po­si­tions in the Univer­sity Map and De­sign Li­brary and Cat­a­logu­ing Depart­ment then even­tu­ally be­com­ing Man­ager, Col­lec­tions Main­te­nance, Cir­cu­la­tion Ser­vices. She re­tired from the Univer­sity in 2012.

Ann was an avid reader, loved ba­bies, and cook­ing. She par­tic­u­larly en­joyed pre­par­ing din­ners for fam­ily and friends. Sum­mers and many week­ends were spent at the cot­tage in Southamp­ton where much of her time in­volved gar­den­ing, bik­ing, and go­ing for long walks.

FAM­ILY FU­NERAL HOME, 171 King St. S., Water­loo, on Sun­day De­cem­ber 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. Con­do­lences to the fam­ily and do­na­tions to the Cana­dian Breast Can­cer So­ci­ety may be ar­ranged through the fu­neral home at­b­ or 519-745-8445.

Heart­felt thanks to the nurses, doc­tors, and staff of the 6th floor on­col­ogy, wing A at Grand River Hospi­tal for their com­pas­sion­ate care of Ann dur­ing the days and nights she spent there. Also, thanks to the nurses and PSWs of ParaMed Home Health Care.
