BISHOP, Anthony– Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, at St. Clare’s Hospital, on Monday, June 11, 2012, Anthony Bishop of Point La Haye, S.M.B., aged 83 years. Predecease­d by infant children: Jean Marie, Bernice and Anthony, grandson Anthony, parents Francis and Bridget; brothers: Robert (Theresa), John and Walter and brother-in-law Phonse Mulcahey. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 57 years, Lena; daughters: Irene (Dick) Molloy and Ruth (Jimmy) St. Croix; sons: Kevin (Sharon), Ralph (Trudy), Paul (Rhona) and Leonard (Nancy); grandchild­ren: Darlene, Renee, Tracey, Leroy, Sheldon, Megan, Adam, Rebecca, Nicole, Lucas and Noah; great-grandchild­ren: Blake, Carter and Ella; brothers: Frank (Clara) and Gerald (Rosie); sisters: Elizabeth, Mary, Madeline (Bob), Anne, Gert (Jackie), Gen (Pat) and Geraldine (James); sisters-in-law: Mary (J), Mary (W), Elizabeth (Joe) Power and Anne (Willie) Ryan; brotherin-law John Meehan and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. FRASER, Doreen Novella (Banks)– With great sadness, we announce the passing of Doreen Novella (Banks) Fraser of Topsail, after a short but very courageous battle with l eukemia. Doreen was the daughter of the late Arthur and Thelma Banks, Hantsport, NS, and was pre-deceased by her brother Ronald Banks. Left with beautiful memories are her loving husband and best friend of 40 years, Dr. Barry (Tub) Fraser; her son Bradley (Jennifer) and their children Benjamin and Alleigh, and her daughter Tamara (Ches) Penney and their children, Chesley, Anna and Sophie; as well as her canine friend Kensey. Doreen is also survived by her siblings: Myrna (Frank) Campbell, Wolfville, NS, Hazel Watts, Ottawa, ON, Maxine (Robert) MacClure, Greenfield, NS, Glenna ( Alan) MacCallum, Nanaimo, BC, Lorna (Michael) MacNeil, Wolfville, NS; sisters-in-law: Maureen Miller-Banks, Flesherton, ON, and Mary Banks, Toronto, ON; brother-inlaw Dr. Hugh (Helen) Fraser, Burlingt on, ON; as well as many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Cremation has taken place. Doreen will be remembered for her steadfast love and dedication for family and friends, her wonderful sense of humor, and for her appreciati­on of beautiful flowers and gardening. HEENEY, Mary Eleanor (McTavish)– Following a brief illness, Mary died at home on the morning of Sunday, June 3rd, 2012, at the age of 91. She died as she lived, with grace, humour and a minimum of fuss. Mary is survived by Rex, her husband of 64 years, her children and their spouses, Paul Heeney and Joanne Moser, Adam and Maureen Heeney, Martha and Glenn Robinson, and Kate and Collin Clinton, as well as her four grandchild­ren, Julia, Hannah, Mary and Hamish. Also missing Mary are her two sisters, Jean Catton and Ruth Wilson, in-laws Alice and Iain Scott and many other f amily members and friends from St. John’s to Victoria and in the United States. Mary was predecease­d by her brothers, Peter and Bruce McTavish. Mary spent many rewarding hours pursuing her commitment to volunteer work, and her love of literature, music and golf. Her real gift was her ability to connect with people, creating genuine, lasting friendship­s. JANES, Edward Patrick– It is with great sorrow we announce the passing, in the presence of his loving family on Monday, June 11th, 2012, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Edward Janes, aged 70 years. Predecease­d by his parents William and Marie Janes; brothers: Jack, Bernard and Fred and sisters: Marg and Marie. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, Rose; sons: Eddie (Dwanda) and Blair (Annette); and grandchild­ren: Nicholas, Lucas, Hannah and Brandon; brothers: Bill (Peg), Kevin (Cecilia) and Dave; sisters: Sheila (Francis Warren) and Jean and many nieces and nephews. Ed was a great man and very active in the community. A member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, longtime volunteer with the scouting movement, active member with St. Kevin’s Parish and many other groups and organizati­ons through life. O’KEEFE, Mildred– Passed peacefully away at the Placentia Health Care Centre on Monday, June 11, 2012, Mrs. Mildred O'Keefe (nee Grace, she is the last surviving member of the Grace family), age 84 of Placentia. Predecease­d by her parents Thomas & Frances Grace. STEAD, Clifford William– June 26, 1951June 11, 2012. On June 11, 2012, the world lost a kind, gentle and loving man. Cliff was a friend to everyone who met him and brightened our lives with his warm smile, cheerful laugh and his love for singing. Cliff loved and was loved by all who knew him. Clifford William Stead of New Harbour passed away suddenly at his place of work at the age of 60 years. Predecease­d by his parents Leo and Sarah Jane Stead (Williams), sisters: Bertha Harnum and Florence Cole. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories his devolved wife of 35 years Clarice (Dawe); his three loving children and their spouses: Jeffrey (Diana), Jennifer (Chris George), and Jenine (Trevor Higdon) and three precious grandchild­ren who he absolutely adored Tyler, Hannah and Addison. He is also lovingly remembered by four brothers: Lindsey (Evelyn), Conway (Gladys), Kenneth (Dorothy) and Don; two sisters: Alfreda (Cecil Crocker), Hilda (Nick Green); sisters-in-law: Eileen (Melvin Williams), Susie (Melvin Kavanagh), Sophie (Walter Mugford); brother-in-law Ronald Dawe; as well as a large number of nephews, nieces, other relatives, friends, the congregati­ons of the Zion Pentecosta­l Church and the Salvation Army TBS Corps and co-workers of Woodman's Sea Products. Resting at Warrens Funeral Home, Dildo with visitation on Wednesday, June 13 at 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral. The funeral service will be held from the Salvation Army Citadel TBS Corps on Friday, June 15 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery.
