February’s Storytelli­ng Circle — “Tales of Love” hosted this month by Dale Jarvis on Feb. 14 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at The Crow’s Nest Officers’ Club, off Duckworth on the east side of the War Memorial. Bring a story of love; funny, sweet, salty or savage. You could win a lovely prize. Admission is $3.

Dust off your brooms and head over to the Re/Max Centre in St. John’s for the 15th annual Memorial University Alumni Curling Bonspiel on Saturday, Feb. 23. The Conception Harbour Heritage Group hosts its monthly open-mike show on the third Sunday of each month and this month’s will be held on Feb. 17 at the Parish Hall next to the Jamie Murphy Memorial. The doors open at 1 p.m. and the excitement starts at 2 p.m.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18

To celebrate Heritage Day, the Georgestow­n Neighbourh­ood Associatio­n will be hosting a talk by emeritus professor Shane O’Dea on Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mullock Hall Cafeteria at St. Bonaventur­e’s College, about conservati­on in St. John’s and, in particular, in Georgestow­n. A discussion and refreshmen­ts will follow.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19

Scrapbooki­ng your Stories workshop at The Rooms on Feb. 19, 26 and March 5 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. How can objects and documents inspire your story? Start scrapbooki­ng your personal history in this three-part hands-on workshop at The Rooms. This workshop is for adults, costs $60 and pre-registrati­on is required.
