• The Business Development Bank of Canada invites applications from young entrepreneurs, 18-35, for the 2013 BDC Young Entrepreneur Award. To enter, create a short video to present a turning point your company has reached and the solution you propose to take your business to the next level. Eleven finalists, one per province and one for the combined territories, are short-listed to compete for a $100,000 Grand Prize. • Hours at the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot at Robin Hood Bay have been increased. The HHW Depot is now open two days a week year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Properly dispose of used batteries, leftover propane and paint, compact fluorescent light bulbs, chemicals, solvents and more. • Fluvarium Kids Club weekend programs. Have you heard? Children ages five to 10 and their families are invited to join Fluvarium Kids. Receive updates, collect stickers and earn a Fluvarium Kids Fresh Water Friends certificate when you attend sessions in four different months.
