• The Business Developmen­t Bank of Canada invites applicatio­ns from young entreprene­urs, 18-35, for the 2013 BDC Young Entreprene­ur Award. To enter, create a short video to present a turning point your company has reached and the solution you propose to take your business to the next level. Eleven finalists, one per province and one for the combined territorie­s, are short-listed to compete for a $100,000 Grand Prize. • Hours at the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot at Robin Hood Bay have been increased. The HHW Depot is now open two days a week year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Properly dispose of used batteries, leftover propane and paint, compact fluorescen­t light bulbs, chemicals, solvents and more. • Fluvarium Kids Club weekend programs. Have you heard? Children ages five to 10 and their families are invited to join Fluvarium Kids. Receive updates, collect stickers and earn a Fluvarium Kids Fresh Water Friends certificat­e when you attend sessions in four different months. • Newfoundla­nd and Labrador Division of Navy League Cadets will be selling tickets to send cadets to Navy League Summer Camp. Tickets are $5, and are on a Lund 12 aluminum boat with 4-horsepower Mercury 4-stroke and Yacht Club Trailer.
