Icecaps look to continue recent road success in Worcester
Finish off five-game trip tonight with matchup against Sharks
The St. John’s IceCaps will be looking to cap off what’s already been a successful road swing as they take on the Worcester Sharks tonight.
A win in what is the last game of a five-game trip will give St. John’s a season-high four-game road winning streak
The IceCaps (28-33-5) have won five of their last six games, the lone loss coming against the Portland Pirates in the first game of the current jaunt.
Worcester has lost three consecutive games in regulation and has fallen to 12th place the American Hockey League’s Eastern Conference. Heading into play Friday, the Sharks were six points behind the Hershey Bears for eighth place the final playoff spot, while St. John’s trailed Hershey by 10 points.
The IceCaps and Sharks have met three times this season, with neither side recording a home-ice win. Worcester swept a pair of games from St. John’s at Mile One Centre last month.
St. John’s is coming off a 4-1 win over the Albany Devils Wednesday, a game that saw Aaron Gagnon score twice to extend his consecutive-game point streak to a franchise record 11 games. Eric O’Dell had a goal for the sixth consecutive game.
