-

Rogers Enterprise Ltd. (REL), a full-service provider of health and safety consulting and training, has been working with companies within the energy, construction, mining, and service sectors for the past 15 years. During this time the company has seen a steady increase in demand for its services, which include safety management services, industrial hygiene services and competency–based safety training services.

Bruce Rogers, REL’s CEO, attributes his company’s continued success to having an understanding of the health and safety needs within those industries and tailoring REL’s services to meet those needs. In addition, Mr. Rogers states “Clients that we have been servicing for the past 15 years have become accustomed to receiving quality services, under demanding timelines. After all, time is money to our clients and they have pressing operational demands, which in turn means, we have to be flexible in both our approach and delivery strategy.” REL’s emphasis on quality service as earned the company a nomination from the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association (NLCA) for an “Award of Excellence” under the Supplier category.

“REL recognized early that as we acquire more clients, it will be very important that we not drop the ball, so to speak, when it comes to either the quality of our services and our ability to deliver within client timelines. As such, in 2010 REL began implementing a strategic plan to ensure existing and new clients continue to have confidence in our services and abilities and that we continue to have the resource and capacity to meet future demands for services.”

Mr. Rogers indicated that REL’s strategic plan started in 2010 with the objective of recruiting additional staff, and expanding our reach across the entire province with the goal of providing more flexibility in terms of when and where clients could access REL’s services. REL now provides consulting and training services out of Paradise, Grand Falls-Windsor, Pasadena and Labrador City. REL’s existing training facility in Paradise has been expanded to provide 18,000 sq. feet of training space and office facilities. As well, in 2012 REL purchased a new 3200 sq. ft building for training in Grand Falls – Windsor, leased 3200 sq. ft of office/training space in Pasadena, and leased 5000 sq. ft. of office / training space in Labrador City. REL plans for 2013 include the opening of an office/training facility in Goose Bay to service the Lower Churchill project.

These new facilities ensure that REL’s services are within easy reach of clients throughout the province. REL has equipped each training facility with ergonomic furniture, state-of-the art electronics and CSE and Fall Protection simulators to ensure quality training. The investment in additional facilities and recruitment of new staff will allow REL to offer clients more options and greater flexibility in meeting their consulting and training needs.

“Our services have always been subjected to a rigorous internal quality control process. However, as REL continues to grow and acquire more clients, it is important that REL put in place even more stringent checks and balances to ensure that our clients continue to receive the quality of services that have come to expect. As such, REL has implemented the necessary steps to have our existing corporate Quality Management System upgraded and certified to ISO 9001 by the end of 2013.”
