Signings

Garry Cranford will sign copies of “Not Too Long Ago” Saturday, March 30 from 2-4 p.m. at Costco in St. John’s. Meet local author Claire Wilkshire and get a signed copy of her new debut novel, “Maxine,” Saturday, March 30 at Chapters on Kenmount Road from 1-3 p.m. and at Coles in the Avalon Mall from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Cyril W. Greenham will sign copies of “The Yarns We Had” Friday, April 5 from 5-7 p.m. at Coles in the Village Shopping Centre; Saturday, April 6 from 2-4 p.m. at Costco in St. John’s; Sunday, April 7 from 1-3 p.m. at Coles in the Avalon Mall and from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Chapters on Kenmount Road.

Launches

Breakwater Books will hold a launch party for “Every Little Thing” by Chad Pelley and “Maxine” by Claire Wilkshire Thursday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at The Ship Pub in St. John’s. Short readings, book talk and featuring special guests Pilot to Bombardier and Katie Baggs. Free admission.

The Writers’ Union of Canada (TWUC) invites all members and non-members to its 40th Anniversar­y Chair’s Tour event in St. John’s. Come meet TWUC chair Merilyn Simonds and hear the latest on copyright, eBooks, Library & Archives Canada, PLR, and freedom of expression and the digital landscape. Mingle with other writers, learn why collective voice matters so much right now and share your views on what it means to be a writer in Canada today.
