Brian Hanlon, 90, beloved f ather, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2013, surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved. Predecease­d in 2009 by his wife of 62 years Agnes (Healey) Hanlon. His brothers: Julian, Adrian & John, and his sisters: Cicily and Eileen (Evans). Brian is survived by his six children: Terry (Wanda Chaffey) Garry (Ann Murrin), Donalda (Jim Smeaton), John (Cathy), Edwina Franco (Pedro) and Debbie. His sister Sheila Whiffen, sisters-in-law: Sheila Hanlon and Anna Kirby. Also left behind to celebrate his life are his grandsons: Stephen, Christophe­r, James, Lee, and Andrew Hanlon, and Nicholas & Alexander Janes. Granddaugh­ters: Leigh Ann Bunting, Jennifer Vanderlees­t, Kerry Lynn Hughes and Jo-Anne Brucculari, and daughter-in-law, Tina Hanlon. Great- grandchild­ren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Brian grew up on Mt. Scio Road and lived his whole life in St. John’s. He worked for 25 years at Parker & Monroe and later at Clarke Transporta­tion. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Meadow Creek Retirement and Glenbrook Lodge. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care was a blessing to the entire family. We thank God for the gift of his life. The family will receive friends at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
