Doors Open Days offers public a chance to enjoy architectu­re, heritage for free

Anumber of businesses, organizati­ons, museums and other locations in the St. John’s area will open to the public free of charge this weekend, for the annual Doors Open Days.

Presented by Historic Newfoundla­nd Trust, Doors Open is intended to be a celebratio­n of local architectu­re and heritage. Buildings that are normally closed to the public or charge an entrance fee welcome visitors to look around for free.

This year’s Doors Open event will happen Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following sites:

Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist

Art Gallery at the Refugee and Immigrant Advisory Council

The Basilica and Basilica Museum

Central Fire Station

Clovelly Stables

Crow’s Nest Officers’ Club

James J. O’Mara Pharmacy Museum, Apothecary Hall

Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove Museum

Newman Wine Vaults Provincial Historic Site

Peter Lewis Art Gallery

Quidi Vidi Brewery
