Husky Energy gives $200K to Gathering Place
Husky Energy has donated $200,000 to The Gathering Place to help expand services and programs available to people struggling with complex physical, mental or social difficulties.
“With this gift, The Gathering Place will help people develop the basic literacy and computer skills they need to gain employment, make healthier choices and live independently,” said Malcolm Maclean, Husky Energy’s senior vicepresident, Atlantic region.
“As we come together at this time of Thanksgiving, our volunteers and guests have reason to be especially thankful,” said Sister Elizabeth Davis, The Gathering Place board cochair. “Husky’s donation will significantly advance our financial objectives and help make the expansion The Gathering Place a reality.”
The Gathering Place exists to meet the needs of people whom society has failed. More than 20,000 meals were served at the Gathering Place in 2012.
