Gathering Place receives $30,000 from RBC
The Gathering Place also received a recent $30,000 donation from RBC.
In making the donation, Kim Mason, RBC’s regional president for Atlantic Canada said, “For 19 years The Gathering Place has played a tremendous role in the community by improving the lives of people who face difficult circumstances every single day. RBC is honoured that our donation will help expand these programs and services and allow The Gathering Place to reach even more individuals.”
Gathering place board co-chair Sister Sharon Fagan indicated the number of people who use The Gathering Place programs has increased by more than 40 per cent in the last five years.
“The support received from RBC demonstrates commitment to helping people who have been marginalized by society.” Fagan added. “Without the support of RBC, The Gathering Place’s ability to support the most vulnerable people in our society would be compromised, and while the campaign has secured 60 per cent of the funds required, there is still much work to be done.”
