It’s May Day Craft Weekend, meaning people can take a trip downtown for craft demos, open houses and even chocolate tastings.

On Saturday and Sunday, local craft studios and shops will open their doors for special free events, along with some sales of work by local craftspeop­le. Events include:

A craft supply and seconds sale at the Anna Templeton Centre, 278 Duckworth St., Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Open house, chocolate-making demos and truffle samplings at Newfoundla­nd Chocolate Co., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Open house and demos at Alexis Templeton Studio, 75 Quidi Vidi Rd., Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Open house at Blue Moon Pottery, 17 Outer Battery Rd., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Craft sale at the Craft Council of Newfoundla­nd and Labrador shop, 59 Duckworth St., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Open house and demos in printmakin­g, weaving, pottery and handmade acces- sories, with treats and activities for kids, at the Quidi Vidi Village Plantation, Saturday and Sunday from 12-5 p.m.

Open studio at Charlottes­treet, 267 Duckworth St., Saturday from 12-5 p.m.

Ray Cox open studio at 111 Quidi Vidi Rd., Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sin City Crafters Handmade Market at the Rocket Room (above Rocket Bakery) Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
