Janet Mills of Bally Haly took top honours in both the ladies’ mid-masters and senior divisions, defeating Kathleen Jean in a one-hole playoff to decide the titles.
Both players had finished the three days of competition at 271.
On the initial playoff, Mills parred the hole, while Jean experienced trouble off the tee and finished with a bogey.
In the women’s super senior, Jan Peters, also from Bally Haly, scored a 92 on the final day of competition, giving her a three-day total of 275 and the win.
The Holiday Inn Trophy, awarded to the women’s club team with the lowest gross score at the end of competition, was won again this year by Bally Haly Country Club.
The team, with a combined gross score of 1,115, consisted of Janet Mills, Jan Peters, Gale Roberts and Sandra Sparrow. They finished 10 strokes ahead of the team from host Grande Meadows Golf Club.
During the players dinner held on Saturday, Golf Newfoundland and Labrador director Sandra Sparrow thanked the staff, management and volunteers of Grande Meadows for their support and assistance with the hosting of the Provincial Championships.
At the conclusion of the dinner, it was announced the 2015 adult championships will be held at Terra Nova Resort and Golf Community in Port Blandford from June 29-July 2.
