December 4, 1930 - July 26, 2014 Passed peacefully away at the Lions Manor, Placentia, on Saturday, July 26, 2014, William Frederick Anderson Woodman of New Harbour, Trinity Bay, aged 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 61 years; Cairine, his children; Ernestine (Roland), Elizabeth (Keith), Fred (Sharon), and Geoff (Nicole), his grandchild­ren; Jennifer (Juan), Wendy, John, Amy (Mike), Melissa, Aaron (Kaya), Stephanie, Angie, and Jonah, his greatgrand­children; Casey, Maya, Quinn, and Carter, as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Fred, a well-known and respected businessma­n, community leader, as well as an avid outdoorsma­n, opened Woodman's Fisheries in 1972. He served the industry in various capacities, including Chairman of the Fisheries Associatio­n of Newfoundla­nd and Labrador (FANL), Chairman of the Fisheries Council of Canada (FCC), and served as a member and Chairman of the Fisheries Resource Conservati­on Council (FRCC). Most of all, he cherished family time, good food and good wine. Please join his family at Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo, to celebrate his life, reminisce and share condolence­s on Sunday, July 27th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Monday, July 28th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Tuesday, July 29th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Augustine's Church, New Harbour on Tuesday July 29th, at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at St. Augustine's Anglican Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Fred's memory may be made to the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre or Canadian Diabetes Associatio­n.
