MUN School of Music, St. John’s Feel the rhythm! Sylvie Proulx, who has been called one of Canada’s finest guitarists, joins the NSO Sinfonia for its final Sinfonia concert of the season. Proudly presented by Elite Productions, Sinfonia 3 takes place at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at the D.F. Cook Recital Hall. Queen’s Road Hot Earth Ensemble’s final concert, “Réjouissance: Virtuoso Music of the High Baroque,” will take place Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. and will feature baroque violin specialist David Greenberg, who performed with the renowned Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra for a decade. A highlight of the program will be Bach’s wonderful “Brandenburg Concerto No. 4.” Music of Rameau, Telemann and others will round out this gala celebration of our seven full seasons together.
Topsail United Church
Topsail Gospel concert on March 12 at 7 p.m. at Topsail United Church. This special concert is a fundraiser for the church’s music programs and will feature the Men’s, Mixed, and Children’s Choirs, the Youth Band, and music from the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” A minimum donation of $10 is suggested and all gifts provided in a labeled envelope will be eligible for a tax receipt.
