Peter Barnes explores ways of letting go of whatever is causing us pain so that we are able to acknowledg­e and bless the reality we are living. Dying and rising is an integral part of Christian living. All have experience­d the pain of loss — loss of a loved one, failing health, loss of relationsh­ip, loss of expectatio­ns of a particular career path, of who we thought our children would be. Everyone welcome and encourged to attend. • Gospel concert on March 12, at 7 p.m. at Topsail United Church. This special concert is a fundraiser for the church’s music programs and will feature the Men’s, Mixed, and Children’s Choirs, the Youth Band, and music from the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” A minimum donation of $10 is suggested and all gifts provided in a labeled envelope will be eligible for a tax receipt. Reception to follow. • On Sunday, March 15 at 7 p.m. the congregati­on of George Street United Church will hold their 52nd annual People of the Sea service. Join with us in honouring the men and women who make their livelihood on the sea.
